The Year is Complete!

Please feel free to look back through the 365 days of 2010 sunrises, but "a year of getting up to meet the day" is officially completed. There will be no more new posts.

PLEASE JOIN ME FOR MORE SUNRISE POSTS AT THE SUNRISE BLOGGER, WHERE YOU WILL FIND SUNRISE PHOTOS AND REFLECTIONS FROM ME AND FROM CONTRIBUTORS AROUND THE GLOBE.

Thank you so much for visiting.
A one year blog project in which I share a process of transitions: emptying of the nest, reacquainting with my rusty intellect, plowing onward with my first full length book, entering the second half of my first century, and generally reflecting on life.

nothing gold can stay

sunrise:  6:04

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Robert Frost  1923

A rather melancholy view of beauty and perfection.  But it would serve all of us well to seize all that is wonderful in our lives and embrace it while we can.

Here are photos of the fleeting beauty of today's dawn.

The western sky, lit by dawn's eastern glow:

pre-dawn glow...

sun-up -

the moon and dawn lit trees...

where I sat to watch....
