The Year is Complete!

Please feel free to look back through the 365 days of 2010 sunrises, but "a year of getting up to meet the day" is officially completed. There will be no more new posts.

Thank you so much for visiting.
A one year blog project in which I share a process of transitions: emptying of the nest, reacquainting with my rusty intellect, plowing onward with my first full length book, entering the second half of my first century, and generally reflecting on life.

grandeur in the sky

sunrise:  6:38

There was a blue heron standing by the pond this morning, the same that I watched gliding in for a landing yesterday.  Three dogs do not enhance a blue heron encounter.  Photos are a challenge, and the heron is a cautious bird.  Here is a terrible blurry attempt, but at least his general stature is evident.

The unfolding of wings as a heron takes flight is one of the noblest and most inspiring sights in nature.  I highly recommend it.

Beautiful morning, enjoyed in spite of a deeply settled chest cold.  Today I will cherish the privilege of being able to get back into bed.
